If you use Demon's WWW Proxy Server [see section 4.4] you will see, when you click this link, that you are effectively anonymous when surfing sites that you access via the proxy server.

If you give out your email address on the WWW, for example by filling out a form or signing a "guest book", be aware that it could be added to a mailing list for sending you advertisements by email. You may wish to consider using a special email name in such cases, perhaps the date

or an identification of the site:

Then, if you should find yourself the target of unexpected junk mail, it will be easier to deal with it. [see section 12.5].
