Point your browser to Demon's WebPassword page at https://www.password.uk.demon.net/ https indicates a secure server to which your password will be sent in encrypted form. If for any reason your browser does not support secure connections, there is an insecure version of the service at http://www.password.uk.demon.net/. This version can only be used if you are actually dialled into Demon. The 'sign-in' form on the WebPassword site requires you to enter your current Demon dial-up password. This should not be confused with any password that you may use locally on your machine to prevent others accessing your mail or news, e.g. the Turnpike "sign on" password. You can also set or change your POP3 password here, if you need one to access your email from a non-Demon host (e.g. when travelling abroad). Further details of the WebPassword service are available at http://www.password.uk.demon.net/wp.html Alternatively, you can use Telnet to change your password. After you have logged on, Telnet to password.demon.co.uk - use your hostname and current password, and follow the on-screen prompts. |
