| Telnet allows you to login on a remote
computer as if you were using a terminal directly attached to it. What user name you
should use and whether you need a password depend on how the computer you are connecting
to is set up. You may be able to use all the facilities of the computer, or (more
commonly) you may be restricted to using a single application.
