10.   FTP

10.2   Why do I keep getting the remote path incorrect?

A common mistake is to use the wrong type of slash - Unix (the operating system used by most ftp sites) needs / and not \. If you are unsure, either don't set a remote path or just use / or /pub - you can then (if your ftp software has a graphical user interface) click and scroll through the remote directories in the same way as you would on your own computer. Directory and file names are case sensitive - you cannot use /Pub for /pub.

See the Short tutorial on FTP for a graphic guide to using FTP.
